DH Conley, Ayden-Grifton and JH Rose volleyball advance in state tourney

All six Pitt County public high schools made the 2018 NCHSAA Volleyball playoffs which started Tuesday night. DH Conley, Ayden-Grifton and JH Rose all advanced to the second round with straight set victories. South Central received a bye to round two and play their first match Thursday at home. North Pitt and Farmville Central both were eliminated after first-round losses.
DH Conley vs Wilson Fike
DH Conley, a #1 seed, remains undefeated with their three-set win over Fike

Ayden-Grifton , a number 1 seed, won their 21st match in a row with a three-set home win vs Northeastern.

Set 2 - AG 25, Northeastern 8
Set 3 - AG 25, Northeastern 12
The Chargers will host Randleman on Thursday, time TBA.
JH Rose at Clayton
JH Rose, a number 14 seed, went on the road and defeated Clayton in three sets.

Set 2 - JHR 25, Clayton 22
Set 3 - JHR 25, Clayton 7

South Central, a number 3 seed, hosts Holly Springs on Thursday, time TBA.
The Falcons are 18-2 on the season.
North Pitt vs Durham School of the Arts
North Pitt, a number 9 seed, lost to Durham School of the Arts in three sets to end the Panthers season.
Set 1 - NP 22, DSA 25
Set 2 - NP 13, DSA 25
Set 3 - NP 17, DSA 25
North Pitt finishes 13-8 on the year.
Farmville Central at Randleman
Farmville Central, a number 17 seed, lost at Randleman in three sets to end the Jaguars season.
Set 1 - FC 17, Randleman 25
Set 2 - FC 13, Randleman 25
Set 3 - FC 20, Randleman 25
Farmville Central ends the season with a 10-12 record.
