The Greenville 13u Babe Ruth All Stars World Series run came to an end Wednesday night at the 2018 13u Babe Ruth World Series in Mountain Home, Ark.
Southwest champion Eagle Pass, Texas, avenged their earlier loss to Greenville with the 8-3 win to advance to the World Series championship game against Pacific Southwest champion Five Cities, Calif., another team Greenville defeated earlier in pool play.
Eagle Pass scored three runs in the first inning and added two additional runs in the top of the fourth inning before Greenville responded with two runs in their half of the inning. Greenville loaded the bases in the fifth inning with two outs, but Five Cities got out of the jam with an inning-ending ground out to shut down the Southeast champion's rally.
