Greenville 13u All Stars suffer pool play loss

After pounding out 12 hits in their opening pool play game Thursday, the Greenville 13u Babe Ruth All Stars managed just six hits Friday in a 5-4 loss to West Linn, Ore., at the 2018 13u Babe Ruth World Series in Mountain Home, Ark.

Greenville battled back from a 5-0 deficit to score single runs in the 4th and 5th innings. The team plated two additional runs in the 7th inning and had the tying run at 3rd base but could not get the runner home.

Chase Anderson pitched 3 1/3 innings in relief and allowed zero earned runs with two strikeouts.

Greenville gets the day off Saturday and returns to action Sunday at noon when they will face the Southwest champion, Eagle Pass, Texas.
