Tokyo Express offers fast Asian food

Tokyo Express on Memorial Drive

A Greenville restaurateur has opened Tokyo Express, a fast casual Asian restaurant with two drive-through lanes, at 700 S. Memorial Drive.

The restaurant, which opened March 8, 2018, is at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Stantonsburg Road near Vidant Hospital.

Owner Daniel Wu also operates Wasabi 88 on Fire Tower Road and The Dairy Queen on East 10th Street.

Tokyo Express offers sushi and Asian specialties for take-out or dining in.

Appetizer offerings include spring rolls (99 cents), edamame ($1.99), Crab Wontons (6 for $3.49), tempura wings ($3.99), and Firecracker Shrimp ($3.99).

Soups include Hot and Soup Soup and Miso Soup ($1.99 each) and salads include a house version for $1.99, Seaweed Salad for $2.39 and Chicken Salad (grilled or crispy) for $4.19.

Sushi is $3.99 and includes California Roll, Dynamite Roll, and Junk in the Trunk Roll.

Many of the restaurant's entrees are prepared either hibachi style (grilled with soy sauce) or teriyaki style (grilled with a sweet glaze). Patrons may choose chicken; steak; shrimp; chicken and steak; chicken and shrimp; steak and shrimp; or chicken, steak and shrimp. Prices are $6.49-$10.49.

Crispy Sesame Chicken and Tempura (Fried) Wings also are available, for $7.69 each.

Entrees are served with rice and a choice of broccoli, mushrooms, zucchini, onions or sweet carrots. Add a soup, salad or drink for 99 cents.

The restaurant's Kids Menu includes teriyaki chicken or hibachi chicken for $3.99; and Crispy Sesame Chicken or Tempura Wings for $4.99. The kids meals come with one side; add an orange juice or milk for 99 cents.

Sweet treats include ice cream, Vanilla Roll and Cake of the Month.

Pepsi products, tea and coffee are offered.

Catering is available for a minimum of 10 people.
