"Villa verde" means Greenville in Spanish. Owners Yordanys Bastardo -- who goes by "Jay" -- and his wife Eridania grew up in the Villa Verde section of La Romana before relocating to Greenville. They have become local ambassadors for the Dominican culture and for their adopted hometown of Greenville.
They began by serving food from the Villa Verde truck and built on their food's popularity by opening a restaurant at 2601 E. 10th St. in 2015.
"We want to continue to expand and respond to customer requests," Yordanys said. "People have been asking for brunch."
