The Oakwood School will host sports benefit to raise money to fight cancer
A fall "Spike It/Slice It/Strike It/Stride It For Life" benefit sports tournament for students from five area private schools will be held from noon-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 at The Oakwood School, 4000 MacGregor Downs Road, Greenville.
The annual "For Life" event, which raises money to support the fight against cancer, will include sports competitions throughout the day in volleyball, boys soccer, girls tennis and cross country. Students from The Oakwood School, St. Peter's Catholic School, Christ Covenant, Bethel Christian Academy and John Paul II will participate.
The benefit also will include a bake sale, luminary walk, Glow-in-the-Dark Night on the soccer field, inflatable obstacle course races, and games for younger students.
"For Life" is a student-led fundraiser, and proceeds will be donated locally to help the fight against cancer.
Admission is $5 per person. Dinner is available for an additional $5 per person.
