Stand Up Paddle boards take yoga to a new level

Greenville's Moxie Yoga offers Friday morning sessions of SUP Yoga that combine the breath control, body poses and meditation of yoga with the balance, exercise and flotation of stand-up paddle boarding, with the bonus of being outdoors, surrounded by the serenity and natural beauty of the Tar River.

SUP Yoga is held from 8-10 a.m. every Friday through the end of September, weather permitting, at Port Terminal boat ramp (turn on Port Terminal Road across from Lowe's on 10th Street and the site is at the end of the road on the banks of the Tar River).

Kelsey Curtis from Knee Deep Adventures provides brief instructions on paddle boarding in the river.

Kelly Boutilier from Moxie Yoga leads the yoga session on the river. She's been practicing yoga since 2005 and has been a certified instructor since 2013.

Cost is $15 per session. You may bring your own paddle board or rent one from Knee Deep Adventures for $20.
