Greenville to host Babe Ruth 15u regional baseball tournament

The 15u 2017 Babe Ruth Southeast Regional Tournament starts Wednesday, July 27 at Greenville's Guy Smith Stadium, 2113 Myrtle Ave.
As host, Greenville received a bid and begins play with a 6 p.m. game vs Sarasota (FL). Greenville was defeated in the eastern NC championship game by Nash County. Nash County begins play with a 9 a.m. contest vs Tallahasse (FL).
Greenville's remaining schedule is a noon start on Thursday, July 27 vs Stanly County (NC) and a 6 p.m. first pitch vs Marshall County (TN) on Friday, July 28.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semifinals, to be played Saturday at 9 a.m. and noon, with the semifinal winners squaring off for the regional championship at 3 p.m.
The regional winner will advance to the Babe Ruth World Series in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., which begins Aug. 10.
Admission is free for all games. Game times are 9 a.m, noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m Wednesday-Friday.
