An evening of bluegrass music and glass blowing, dubbed BlueGlass with Hank & Pattie, will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at The East Carolina University GlasStation, 3732-B W. Wilson St. in Farmville.
ECU's Mike Tracy will present a glass-blowing demonstration at 6 p.m.
Music will begin at 7 p.m. with Hank Smith on banjo and Williamston native Pattie Hopkins Kinlaw on fiddle. Hank and Pattie are two of North Carolina's most versatile bluegrass musicians. The duo blends elements of jazz, classical and blues music. In September, they will be one of 30 musicians from across the country selected to perform for the 2017 Bluegrass Music Association's Bluegrass Ramble.
Craft brews will be offered by Farmville's Duck-Rabbit Brewery.
The BlueGlass event is sponsored by the Farmville Community Arts Council, the DeVisconti Trust and the ECU GlasStation.
Cost is $10 for FCAC members and $15 for others.
The GlasStation is housed in a former Gulf gas station outfitted with equipment to create a functioning hot glass studio. The ECU School of Art and Design offers classes for university students and the public at the facility.
