High tea will benefit Farmville arts council

A Mother's Day high tea with a Southern twist will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 14, at Myrtle Grove Plantation, 4226 N.C. 43 South, Macclesfield.

The benefit is hosted by the Farmville Community Arts Council.

The English high tea menu will include chicken salad sandwiches, pimento cheese sandwiches,, PB&J for the kids, shrimp salad on English cucumbers, mini scones, mini cupcakes and mini brownies. Hot tea, iced tea and lemonade will be served.

Activities will include lawn games, kids' crafts and a photo booth. There also will be a gift shop where kids can purchase small gifts for their mothers.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children age 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased online, at the Farmville Chamber of Commerce at 3744 S. Main St., or by calling 252-753-3832.
