Earth Day river clean-up is planned for April 22

Join Sound Rivers volunteers on Earth Day 2017 to clean up the Tar-Pamlico River. The 11th annual River Cleanup Challenge will be held from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 22 at various locations along the river system. Greenville volunteers will meet at the Town Common Boat Ramp on First Street, and Washington volunteers will meet at the Havens Garden Boat Ramp Bags will be provided and a limited amount of gloves will be available. Please bring a canoe, kayak, or jon-boat and a personal floatation device. Some kayaks may be available in Washington and Greenville; call 252-946-7211 or email in advance for availability. Land clean-ups will also be conducted.
