Platinum-selling local country rock band Parmalee has joined the line-up for the second Carolina Kickoff concert Aug. 19 in East Carolina University's Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
Concert headliner is country music superstar Blake Shelton. Performers also includes Big & Rich, David Ray and Adley Stump.
Parmalee -- brothers Matt and Scott Thomas, their cousin Barry Knox and friend Josh McSwain -- are ECU alumni who celebrate their hometown of Parmale and their ties to eastern North Carolina. Their hits include "Carolina," "Close Your Eyes" and "Roots."
Shelton, an Oklahoma native, is a member of the Grand Ole Opry who has recorded such hits as "Austin," "Some Beach," "Boys Round Here," "Over You," "Honeybee" and "Sangria." He has earned Male Vocalist of the Year accolades from the Annual Country Music Awards and has been a judge on the NBC show "The Voice."
The country music duo Big & Rich topped the charts with "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)," "Comin' to Your City"and "Lost in This Moment." Their new project, "Gravity" has earned them back-to-back Top 10 hits for the first time in their career, with "Look at You" and "Run Away with You."
David Ray, the winner of Kenny Chesney's "Next Big Star" competition, has completed his first album, "Earthquake."
Up-and-coming country artist Adley Stump is an alum of the NBC singing competition, where she was on Team Blake Shelton and her EP "Like This" (Deluxe) was named New and Noteworthy by iTunes.
Early Bird tickets are available now from $39-$199. VIP Lounge admission for $234 includes a ticket in the Club Level, buffet and access to a cash bar.
The inaugural Carolina Kickoff concert featured Kid Rock and Eric Church.
