Easter egg hunts offered at local venues

Easter egg hunts are being offered at several Pitt County locations

Brock's Berries & Produce Farm, 862 Laurie Ellis Road, Winterville, will hosts its third annual Easter on the Farm event from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, April 15.

Egg hunts -- divided into age groups 1-3, 4-7, and 8 and up -- will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Ticket purchases will reserve a hunt time. The festival also will include visits with the Easter Bunny, farm animals, hay ride, prize eggs and packages of seeds. The event will be held rain or shine. Tickets are $5 for adults and $8 for kids; every person, adult and kid, will need a ticket for admission. Tickets may be purchased online. Brock's Berries is a family owned farm that offers fresh produce; pick-your-own strawberries and blackberries; and farm animals that may be fed any time the farm is open.

Creekside Fresh Pickings, 1112C Kingold Blvd., Snow Hill, will host its first Easter on the Farm from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 15. Free egg hunts will be offered for ages 0-5 years and for ages 6-12 years. Preregister for the egg hunt to guarantee a spot. Other activities will include wagon rides, the Easter story, farm-made ice cream, visit with the farm pigs and chicks, and photo opportunities with the Easter bunny. Call 252-917-2561.

Creekside Fresh Pickings is a family owned and operated produce farm situated just off Contentnea Creek that offers a pick-your-own strawberry field and a farm market that sells seasonal fresh produce and farm-made ice cream in the summer.

Simply Natural Creamery & Jersey Farm,1265 Carson Edwards Road, Ayden, will offer a free Creamery Egg Hunt, sponsored by People's Baptist Temple, from 1-3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15. There will be egg hunts for ages 5-7 at 2 p.m. and for ages 2-4 at 2:30 p.m. The event also will include picture opportunities with Sally the Cow and The Easter Bunny, and music centered around the Easter story.

Sunday April 16

River Park North, 1000 Mumford Road, will host an Egg Scramble and 5K Digital Egg Hatch for all ages beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 16. Several different egg hunts will be held for various age groups and abilities. Eggs will be empty and may be traded in for a goody bag at the end of the hunt. Cost is $1 for Greenville residents and $2 for others. A free 5K Walk to hatch any digital eggs you may have on your smartphone will begin immediately following the Egg Scramble. Space is limited and preregistration is encouraged.
