Dashiell Ensemble to offer free jazz concert
Greenville jazz legend Carroll V. Dashiell Jr. and his CVD Ensemble will perform a free concert of contemporary and standard jazz at 7 p.m. Friday, April 14 at Emerge Gallery & Art Center, 404 S. Evans St. The first set is at 7 p.m. and the second set begins at 8:30 p.m. The concert is part of the African American Music Series, held the second Friday of each month at Emerge. Dashiell is East Carolina University's director of jazz studies, has been recognized for excellence in the music industry as a bassist, musical director/conductor and also as a composer/arranger. He is Robert L. Jones Distinguished Scholar of Music, director of Jazz Ensembles and a string/electric bass professor.
