PirateFest and ArtWalk merge for fun-filled evening in Greenville

It's PirateWalkArtFest on Friday, April 7. And it's a match made in Uptown Greenville heaven, when First Friday ArtWalk, with its gallery showings and restaurant specials, collides with PirateFest, a swash-buckling event featuring carnival rides, music by a Price tribute band and a grog garden.

As part of ArtWalk, check out live painting by Dan Nelson, who creates his masterpieces using both hands, on the corner of Fourth and Evans streets. Galleries that will be open for ArtWalk from 5-8 p.m. include Emerge Gallery & Art Center, The Greenville Museum of Art and East Carolina University's Faulkner Gallery and Wellington B. Gray Gallery.

PirateFest will kick off Friday with a Buccaneer Bash featuring live music by Purple Masquerade: A Price Tribute Band, at the Rose's lot on the corner of Fourth and Evans streets Carnival rides will be operating from 5-9 p.m. at Five Points Plaza, corner of Fifth and Evans streets.

The Jolly Trolley will be operating throughout downtown Greenville along the traditional ArtWalk route, offering free transportation.
