Garden lovers and amateur horticulturalists will be treated to an hour-long behind-the-scenes tour of the extensive gardens of New Bern's historic Tryon Palace beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21. (The event will be cancelled only in the event of snow and ice.)
Palace gardeners will meet guests at the palace Way Station to see what's blooming in the 16 acres of gardens.
The palace's winter gardens include camellias, prunus mume, kerria, viburnum and witch-hazel in addition to jonquils, hellebore and pansies.
The fee for the tour is $6 for adults and $3 for youth.
