It's a Valentine's Day tradition to take your sweetie -- or your best friend -- out for dinner.
Because the romantic holiday is on a Tuesday this year, most restaurants will be open -- and some will be accepting reservations. Call your favorite eatery in advance to inquire about details.
A number of area restaurants have planned special Valentine's Day menus.:
Valentine's Day dinner will be offered from 5-10 p.m. Feb. 14 at Cafe' Duo Kitchen and Bar, 505 Red Banks Road.
A three-course prix fixe dinner menu will be $45 per person.
Appetizer choices are lobster bisque or petit bistro salad. Entree choices include Filet Mignon, Catch of the Day, Linguino Granchio (linguine and crabmeat in a whie wine sauce) and pan-roasted duck breast. Dessert is Chocolate Pot de Creme.
Some of the Valentine's Day entree offerings will be available throught the week of Feb. 14.

Crave Restaurant and Bar, 409 Evans St., will offer a Valentine's Day dinner for two from 6-10 p.m. Feb. 14.
The three-course dinner will include an appetizer to share, choice of three entrees, and a dessert too share, along with a complimentary bottle of wine. Cost is $62 per person, which includes all service charges and taxes.

Famiglia Fresh Italian-American Cuisine, 740 W. Fire Tower Road, Winterville, will feature a special Valentine's Dinner from 4-9 p.m. Feb. 14.
The chef's special four-course meal for two will be $75 with a bottle of wine, $65 without wine.
The meal includes one appetizer to share, either sausage bruschetta or mushroom bruschetta; two salads, a choice of Grecian Capri Salad or Red Quinoa Watercress Salad; two entrees, a choice of salmon and potato gnocchi, prime rib-eye steak, boneless pork chop or spaghetti squash lasagna; and two desserts, either key lime panna cotta or Chocolate Lava Cake.
Live music will be performed by Twisted Knot.

Fine dining pop-up restaurant
Food Network Chef Christian Brown of Greenville is creating a fine dining Valentine's Day Pop-Up Dinner Feb. 11 and Feb. 14 at his healthy meal-prep space Green Lean & Clean, 2289 W. Fifth St., Suite 600 in Washington.
Appetizers, which range in price from $8-14, include N.C. Pickle and Cheese Plate; Sweet Potate Gnocchi and North Carolina Sausage; Togarashi Seared Scallops; and Locally Foraged Stuffed Morels.
Salads, from $6-10, include Cobb Salad; Spinach Salad wih Jowl Confit, candied pecans, Cambozola and mustard vinaigrette; mixed greens with herb cream; and Asparagus and Morel Salad with white truffle vinaigrette.
Grilled entrees include pecan grilled sea bass with candied shallot and Pine Town Sausage Risotto, asparagus and sage cream ($26); blackened salmon with jicama salsa, yucca mash, local stir fry, yuzu and miso broth ($26); and jumbo rib-eye steak with fresh goat cheese, bluebery gastrique, bacon potato au gratin and asparagus ($40). Filet and lobster for two, served with twice-baked potato and asparagus, is $100.
Featured desserts are Chocolate Pate', Bananas Foster French Toast and Blueberry Cobbler with Vanilla Bean Creme Anglaise.

A special prix fixe Italian dinner menu will be offered for Valentine's Day at Nino's Cucina Italiana, 511 Red Banks Road.
The dinner includes a choice of antipasti, a house salad, a choice of entree and a dessert of blood orange sorbet topped with homemade cinnamon croissant dipped in chocolate.
Antipasti choices are Torta di Granchoi (seared crab cake over a bed or sauteed spinach with a chili pepper sauce) or goat cheese-stuffed pepper topped with fig preserves and pistachios.
Entree choices are Filet Mignon served over a bed of polenta with asparagus and gorgonzola cream sauce for $50; lobster tail in a light cream sauce over tomato infused linguini for $60; or Chicken Rollatini filled with spinach and ricotta over a bed of polenta topped with white wine reduction for $50.

Totopos Street Food and Tequila, 3130 Evans St., will offer special Valentine's Day fare from Feb. 10 until Feb. 14.
Specialty plates include Tres Enchiladas, Salmon al Pastor on cheesy grits and Creme Brûlée de Chocolate.
Villa Verde Dominican Restaurant, 2601 E. 10th St., is offering several Valentine's Day dinner specials for two.
The couple-centric meals include a bottle of red or white wine and two slices of Tres Leches Cake.
The dinner-for-two options include Paella Campesina (saffron rice mixed with chicken, steak and authentic Dominican chorizo sausage with red and green peppers) for $57.99; Seafood Paella (rice with lobster, mussels, shrimp, calamari and crab meat) for $60.99; skirt steak with lobster for $67.99; and Land and Sea Mofongo (mashed green plantains, garlic and other seasonings with calamari, shrimp, lobster and steak) for $54.99.
