Krispy Kreme is introducing its new coffee blends by offering patrons a free glazed doughnut with the purchase of a cup.
The two flavors of freshly brewed coffees -- Smooth and Rich -- now will be poured at Krispy Kreme doughnut shops nationwide. The new blends are made with 100% Arabica beans from Sumatra, Colombia, Guatemala and Brazil.
The coffee has been reinvented to better complement Krispy Kreme's products, according to a press release from the Winston-Salem-based doughnut chain. The coffees boast nutty and citrus notes and a light acidity that pairs well with sweet treats.
The new Smooth blend is lightly roasted with a subtle flavor and a naturally sweet finish, the company's release states. The new Rich blend is a medium-bodied coffee with a bold flavor.
Beginning today, Krispy Kreme customers who purchase any size cup of the new coffee will receive a free Original Glazed doughnut. The promotion continues through Feb. 28.
The Greenville Krispy Kreme doughnut shop is at 300 E. 10th St.
