Lifelong friends Christian Brown and Jaryd Acheson have combined their passions for food and fitness to create a service that delivers fresh, well-balanced prepared meals to clients in Pitt and Beaufort counties.
Each of Green, Lean & Clean's meal boxes includes a green vegetable (such as green beans, asparagus, brussels sprouts or spinach), a lean protein (such as chicken, salmon, turkey burgers or steak) and a clean starch (such as quinoa, lentil pasta, sweet potatoes or brown rice).
The meals are prepared in the GLC kitchen using fresh ingredients and locally grown, seasonal produce. Then they are delivered to clients, who choose the number of meals they want per week. When it's time to eat, clients pull a meal out of the refrigerator, heat it in the microwave and eat.
Chef Brown, a Greenville native, has an extensive culinary background and has appeared on the Food Network's "Cutthroat Kitchen." He is a culinary professor at East Carolina University and is a consultant for Food Network.
Acheson, also of Greenville, has worked in restaurants his entire life, starting at age 12 when his parents opened A.J. McMurphy's.
Brown handles the culinary side of Green, Lean & Clean and Acheson handles the business end.
