Country comes to town: Eric Church to play Greenville Aug. 20
Country music star Eric Church will headline the inaugural Carolina Kickoff concert at Greenville's Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Aug. 20.
The concert will be a prelude to East Carolina University's 2016 football season.
It will be Church’s only 2016 performance in his home state of North Carolina.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. May 17 to ECU students and football season ticket holders.Tickets will be available to the public on May 24. Prices had not been announced at press time.
Church, a two-time Country Music Association and four-time Academy of Country Music award winner, is a native of Granite Falls who titled his sophomore album "Carolina." He released his fifth album, "Mr. Misunderstood," in 2015 and was included among Rolling Stone magazine's "50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now."
Church's hits include "How 'Bout You," "Love Your Love the Most," "Hell on the Heart,""Drink in My Hand," "Springsteen" and "Talladega."
